What medical accessories do I have to choose from?

Our accessories range from a tech enabled Smart ID Medical Card, shoe identification tags, to fillable wallet cards and ID charms. No matter which medical identification accessory you choose, know that the MedicAlert emblem is recognized globally by first responders.

Smart Medical ID Card or ICE Tag: Using proven QR code technology, first responders scan your unique QR code for quick access to your health information, wherever you go. The ICE Tag stickers are great for active people – attach it to your bike helmet or phone case, and your medical details are with you everywhere you go.

Medical alert charm: The MedicAlert ID charm can be attached to a key chain, backpack, laptop bag, on a zipper and can be carried with you.

Fillable wallet card: The fillable wallet card folds out to provide sections for you to write in your personal information, medical conditions, medications, allergies, emergency contacts and more. When folded, it’s the size of a credit card and fits in a wallet, pocket or purse.

Shoe identification tag: Shoe tags are available for both lace-up and velcro-style shoes. The tags are made of durable stainless steel and ideal for people who live with autism, alzheimer’s, dementia or those who prefer not to wear an ID on their neck or wrist.

Medical ID for Apple Watch: Designed to easily slide onto your Apple Watch sport band or silicone band, and perfect if you don’t want to wear both a medical ID and your watch. The stainless steel emblem is durable and waterproof.

What information should I include on my medical ID accessories?

Your medical ID accessory should have all the information a first responder will need to care for you if you experience a medical emergency or are in an accident. That includes medical conditions, allergies, medications and more. It’s the critical medical information that could save your life.

Do I need to choose a MedicAlert membership plan to purchase an ID?

For our engraved IDs, a membership is not required. However, when you pair your custom-engraved ID with a MedicAlert membership protection plan, you’ll gain access to all of MedicAlert’s lifesaving benefits – including a detailed digital health profile and support from our 24/7 emergency response team. The digital health profile is important because it’s what’s conveyed to first responders during an incident. A membership gives you peace of mind, knowing that first responders will have access to your full health profile – beyond what’s engraved on your ID – and that MedicAlert will reach out to your loved ones in the event of an emergency. A membership enables you to keep your digital health record and emergency contacts up to date at all times, and protects you by making sure that first responders have all the information they need to treat you quickly and safely.
