Family is everything to me, and I’m so blessed to have my dad as the head of our family. We’re very similar. He loves a good joke and believes we get back what we give. Those are just two of the many things he has passed on to me.
I’ve always thought of my Dad as a super hero. He was strong and invincible, able to do most anything. But in 2008, he started living alone, and I started worrying. I live 3,000 miles away and can’t just pop over to check on him or to help in an emergency, so that’s when my brother, sister, and I started talking with him about getting a medical alert device. He was resistant, assuring us that he “didn’t need help.” I think he finally gave in just to get us kids off his back. Thank heavens he did.
Even Super Heroes Need Help
Earlier this year, Dad had a heart attack. He fell to the ground in pain when coming out of the bathroom and tried to crawl to bed. His girlfriend was there, and even though Dad (like many men) wanted to “wait it out,” she knew he was in distress and that minutes matter, so she pushed his Lifeline button. Emergency help was notified and assistance arrived right away.
Lifeline helped save my father’s life.
I can’t imagine what would have happened had he been alone and decided to wait it out and not push his Lifeline button. But thanks to Lifeline, he was able to get the help he needed and is back to telling jokes and living a busy, independent life. Oh, and now he tells everyone about what a smart move it was to get Lifeline!
Lifeline Is Always There
I am so thankful to Lifeline. Whether you have a medical emergency or just want the peace of mind in knowing you’re not alone, Lifeline is there for you. No one should be in a position where they live in fear, not knowing if they can get help when they need it.
We have been real customers for years and we’re sharing our story so you can see that Lifeline really works. Imagine how much better you would feel knowing that your mom or dad can always have direct contact with a response operator at just the touch of a button. If they hear a prowler, if they get locked out, if they have anxiety about bad weather or if they just want to know they are not alone, Lifeline is there.
Of all the medical alert services out there, I chose Lifeline for my father because they were first in the category and they’re still the leader. They have innovative technology and dependable service, plus, there are lots of options to meet your loved ones’ needs.
I am so happy we convinced my dad to subscribe to Lifeline. Now he feels smart, safe, and strong, and I don’t worry. I couldn’t imagine not having him here and am so grateful that Lifeline gave Daddy a second chance at life.
