In an emergency, MedicAlert's 24-hour emergency response center relays vital medical information to emergency personnel to aid in treatment and help save lives. Over 100,000 members credit the use of the information provided by MedicAlert Foundation by emergency medical personnel for saving their lives.
The Emergency Medical Information Record (EMIR®) contains details about our member’s specific medical conditions, prescription and over-the-counter medications and dosages, allergies, implanted medical devices and a list of emergency contacts. Rapid access to this valuable patient history takes 60 seconds with a phone call by any patient care team member on scene.
Recognized by First Responders
Free training material is available to every agency, department, or hospital staff so that in an emergency, the on-site emergency team will recognize the MedicAlert ID, read the engraved critical conditions and call the MedicAlert 24-hour emergency response center for more information.
24-Hour Emergency Response Service
MedicAlert’s 24-hour emergency response center is staffed with well trained team personnel who answer the calls and provide additional information such as medications, allergies, conditions, and special considerations. The information is available over the phone or it can be faxed directly to the emergency department.
Family Notification
MedicAlert's emergency response center staff calls a designated contact person so your patient will not be alone in an emergency.
