Avoid Those Long Coffee Shop Lines This Fall Season and Enjoy Your Fall Mornings with a Hot and Healthy Treat from Home

For all you coffee lovers, it can be grueling to avoid the temptation of those new trendy holiday drinks being advertised at all your local coffee companies. This fall season; challenge yourself to avoid the artificial flavors, sugars, and hidden chemicals found in coffee shop drinks by creating your very own healthy and flavorful lattes or mochas. 

In addition, think of how your pocket book will appreciate the savings; allowing you to start shopping early for those perfect holiday gifts. Just follow a few simple recipes that exclude unnecessary chemicals, and instead incorporate more natural ingredients:

Recipes:

Gingerbread Latte:

-          1 shot espresso (1oz or about 1/8 cup)

-          1 tbsp palm sugar

-          ¼ tsp molasses

-          ½ tsp all spice

-          About ½ cup whole grass-fed and/or raw milk (enough to fill rest of glass)/ substitute almond milk for vegan

Pour 1 shot of espresso into an 8 oz. coffee mug then mix in the palm sugar, molasses and all spice.

 

Peppermint Mocha:

-          1 shot espresso (1oz or about 1/8 cup)

-          1 tbsp palm sugar

-          1 tbsp cocoa powder

-          Scant ¼ tsp peppermint extract

-          About ½ cup whole grass-fed and/or raw milk (enough to fill rest of glass)/Substitute almond milk for vegan

-          Peppermint candies or candy cane (optional)

Pour 1 shot of espresso into an 8 oz coffee mug then mix in the palm sugar, cocoa powder and peppermint extract.

Note: If you don’t often make espresso or don’t have an espresso maker at home, you can always substitute the espresso for some very strong coffee.
