MedicAlert Foundation demonstrates a commitment of serving the current needs of the community through a variety of programs. We know we can make the greatest impact in our community by supporting causes that are important to our resident's right in our own neighborhoods.
MedicAlert Safely Ever After
Safeguarding your child's health is our priority. That is why in 2008 the MedicAlert Foundation partnered with the Turlock Unified School District to introduce the Safely Ever After program at no cost to families. With the rise of childhood diabetes, asthma, and allergies, it's estimated that one in five children has a medical condition or special need that should be communicated to emergency medical personnel in an emergency. Safely Ever After provides a Turlock child the 24-hour protection of MedicAlert emergency information services FREE until the child's 14th birthday!
Crayons to Calculators
With an average of $75-$125 for beginning of the year backpacks and school supplies, over 2,000 children in Turlock's local schools are unable to afford all the supplies they need. MedicAlert Foundation drives an annual community-wide school supply initiative that provides students within the Turlock Unified School District with the tools they need to succeed. Since 2005, the community has seen over 6,000 children's lives change for the better with the help of this program and the direct support local community members provide.
Community & Giving News
Turlock 12:10 Lions have made it a mission to support the success of the local Safely Ever After program through their humanitarian efforts. They fundraise to provide local children with memberships at no cost to parents, guardians, and schools in the Turlock Unified School District. The Lions members have organized car rallies, educated local community members, and have created a special Lions MedicAlert Safely Ever After committee to support a program that they believe will directly benefit the children. MedicAlert Foundation commends the Turlock 12:10 Lions for their philanthropic support.
