It started when one man created a paper bracelet to protect his daughter
In 1956, physician and father Dr. Marion Collins took action to keep his daughter Linda safe after she survived a near-death incident from an allergy. He inscribed medical information on a piece of paper and wrapped it around Linda’s wrist. Soon after, Dr. Collins invested his life’s savings to fund MedicAlert Foundation as a nonprofit organization, headquartered in his family room. Almost 60 years later, we’re now the world’s largest and most trusted emergency support network; but our work is far from done.
The tradition of philanthropy began over 5 decades ago with the belief and commitment of that our founder Dr. Collins had and his commitment in saving lives. Dr. Collins understood the importance of Emergency Medical Information and knew that the establishment of MedicAlert would benefit the health and wellbeing of all communities.
Thank you for supporting MedicAlert Foundation. Together we can achieve extraordinary good in the world, one gift at a time.
