MedicAlert Foundation demonstrates a commitment of serving the current needs of the community through a variety of programs. We know we can make the greatest impact in our community by supporting causes that are important to our resident's right in our own neighborhoods.
MedicAlert Foundation has developed a children’s program/initiative to provide our MedicAlert services FREE of charge to children ages 4-14 who are most in need. This charitable program is for all elementary and junior high school age children with chronic medical conditions, allergies, or special needs within participating Lions clubs in the Northern California Valley. This children’s initiative offers the protection and security of a MedicAlert medical ID and membership at NO COST to the parent or guardian, the school, or the school district. This special program is funded by MedicAlert Foundation along with the generosity of Lions Clubs and other community groups, corporations, and individual donors. The Foundation has launched the program in its hometown of Turlock, California and it is expanding rapidly throughout the region. Contact a member of the Advancement team to determine if there is a participating club in your area. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
MedicAlert Foundation has partnered with the Carlos Vieira Foundation to offer children in need, and living with Autism, complimentary MedicAlert GPS + Essential. For more information and eligibility requirements visit the Carlos Vieira Foundation sponsored membership page.
MedicAlert offered our first ever Health & Safety Fair in Fall of 2011. The event provided over 2000 individuals in the area with health screenings such as vision, hearing, diabetes, glucose; body mass index etc. that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford, all free of charge. The event was so successful we hosted the event again on September 29, 2012 and seen over 3000 individuals come through. With the help of our loyal sponsors, friends, staff and community partners, we look forward another successful event in 2013. The event is hosted on the MedicAlert campus at 2323 Colorado Ave, Turlock, California.
Through our partnership with the Congressional Fire Service Institute (CFSI), MedicAlert Foundation is actively involved with fire-based EMS services in the US. The CFSI/MedicAlert Foundation partnership allows MedicAlert to be a part of the improvement, and promotion, of fire-based EMS recognition for improving patient care and fire fighter safety. The partnership between MedicAlert and CFSI developed in 2011 and has since recognized 9 fire departments from coast to coast for their dedication and commitment to their local communities by improving patient care and safety.
