Just like Ironman needed his special suit to gain superpowers to protect the world around him, there are thousands of children who feel equally empowered and protected when wearing their MedicAlert ID. And this November 2nd, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., MedicAlert Foundation is encouraging all residents in and around the Turlock area to channel their inner Super Hero and participate in this year’s Super Hero Kids Health and Safety Fair on the MedicAlert campus located at 2323 Colorado Avenue in Turlock, CA.
Over the past two years, this MedicAlert event has attracted and provided health and safety information to over 4,000 Central Valley residents. And this year we’re highlighting a special Super Hero Bicycle Training Course. Remember the feeling of first learning to ride a bike? Bicycling is fun and an excellent way to get healthy exercise. This year’s bicycle event is made up of a series of stations, where children will have the opportunity to participate in an event that will give them chances to learn about, and practice, safe bicycling skills. Participants will practice starting and stopping, the safe way to exit a driveway, how to look for traffic, negotiate an intersection, and avoid common road hazards.
The event will also offer a multitude of activities for all ages including:
• Free Health Screenings & Clinics- including blood pressure testing, vision screenings, hearing screenings, and more;
• First Responder Activities- Fire and Police emergency responder training demonstrations, car seat safety check,
• Fun for Kids & Adults- Bounce house and face-painting, arts and crafts for kids, Teddy Bear Clinic, live animal exhibitions
The event is free to the public. For additional event details, please visit www.medicalert.org/superkidsfair
