MedicAlert ® and CapMed, a division of Bio-Imaging Technologies Inc., announced a partnership to develop and market the MedicAlert E-HealthKEY, a portable device that allows individuals to carry their complete EHR with them at all times.

The E-HealthKEY stores medical conditions, medication dosages. allergies, emergency contacts and insurance information. Vital documents including EKG readings, MRI, X-ray images and immunization records can also be stored as attachments. In addition to providing a patient's medical information in an emergency, the MedicAlert EHealthKEY can also be used to monitor personal programs and fitness goals. Users can track and graph their blood glucose levels, weight, blood pressure and much more. Another benefit for patients is the ability to access Web site links and content related to their specific medical conditions for optimal disease management. Notification alerts can also be programmed to remind users when it's time to refill a prescription, visit the doctor or attend a disease management program offered-at the local hospital.
